Israeli politics, Sudan, intelligence agent identification, Venezuelan exposé, Censorship at WBAI

Israeli Politics

Cabinet Minister Dan Meridor is a conspicuous dissenter against a law that discriminates against the Palestinian people because he stated that the proposed law is "a grave error" and "flagrantly discriminatory." This is from Ha'aretz, the mainstream newspaper in the state of Israel.

In Sudan~
In subsequent investigations it was discovered that the Sudanese plant was entirely being used to produce medicine not manufacturing chemical weapons as the US government stated.

Joaquin "Jack" Otero, according to Philip Agee, author of Inside the Company, is an agent of US intelligence. A Cuban-American, Otero was an executive board member of the AFL-CIO who was heavily involved in the American Institute for Free Labor Development (AIFLD), a labor front for the CIA, which worked to sabotage militant labor movements in Latin America and helped pave the way to military coups throughout the continent.

From Venezuela~
The Confederation of Venezuelan Workers (CTV) was one of the main participants in the coup to oust Chavez. This corrupt and bureaucratized organization, which by its own account formally represents barely 12 percent of Venezuelan workers, is among the closest allies of the US AFL-CIO.

Since Chavez came to power in 1998, the AFL-CIO's American Center for International Labor Solidarity (ACILS), the successor to the infamous American Institute for Free Labor Development (AIFLD), which provided critical "labor" support for military coups in Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and elsewhere in the 1960s and 1970s, has played an increasingly active role in Venezuela. Funded by the US Agency for International Development and the National Endowment for Democracy, the ACILS sent the Venezuelan CTV "technical advisors" to help prepare the confrontation with Chavez.

Censorship/Cancellations at WBAI, community supported radio

Bernard White, the new " program director " has taken Latino Journal off the air. A show founded by Mr. Santiago Nieves, LATINOJOURNAL@AOL.com. Mr. White Stated "the show was too Puerto Rican" when asked about the cancellation of the show which has been on for thirty years. That was the only latino show which discussed Latino issues on WBAI. There are no shows about Latinos on WBAI that are about US Latinos.

Our Americas is a cool show if you like to hear about Our Americas. I hear there is a latin jazz show very good a latino rock show but as for information about issues that affect Latinos in the states and in the City of New York which Puerto Ricans make up the majority, there is no information. The other hosts on the show are JC Calderon (Colombian) and a female Latina, who run ASPIRA.

Bernard White has fired everyone, who was on the air, when he was suspended. Going back on his word to let bygones be bygones after he was reinstated.

The on air number is 1(212) 209 2900. Ask them where Latino Journal went.
